June 2020 – Many economic, social and also political areas have high expectations towards artificial intelligence (AI), especially when it comes to taking on tasks in which rational decisions are made on the basis of information and defined rules. Thus, the question of appropriate support in projectmanagement by AI is obvious. What are the advantages or disadvantages of using AI? How will the role of project managers change in the future? Which competences do they need to have when dealing with AI? Or does AI even take over project management completely? These are exactly the questions the Digital Transformation Group is currently investigating. The last workshop dealt with the basic understanding of what AI stands for and what AI can achieve, in order to develop the possibilities for project management in the next step. Accompanying the workshop, the group is conducting a survey on the possible effects of AI on project management in general and on the (changed) tasks of project managers and the skills required for this in particular.

The survey is available online until July 21st 2020 for all interested PMs under https://www.umfrageonline.com/s/gpm2020
